Can Wasp Sting Cause Elevation In The Blood Sugar Level?

I was stung 4 times, by 4 wasps, in my hand yesterday. I applied Stingeze promptly which helped with the pain. I have slept for 12 hours which I never do and my blood sugar was at 216 went I got up. I m a type 2 diabetic that,s controlled and my count is usually in the 120-135 range. Could the wasp stings raise my count that high or do I have another problem?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello. While the stings themselves wouldn't be expected to raise your blood sugar, if the areas are getting infected, that would. Have your doctor take a look to see if you need a course of antibiotics.
