Can Varying Dfib% From 1% To 71% Cause The Patients Fall Or Can A Fall Impact The Pacemaker?

i JUST transmitted my dads pace maker via the phone line for a regular check. The nurse called back and said his dfib percentage went up from 1to 2% to 71%. She could tell that it had been running at that percentage since 01/22 when he had a bad fall. Did this cause his fall or did the fall impact his pace maker? I am not sure she said defib percentage but something close to that.

Dear Sir/ Madam
Thanks for writing to HCM.
The sudden increase in usage of defibrillation should always be evaluated. you must consult your physician or the AICD provider (company's agent) to have evaluation of device and ascertain cause for these shocks. It may be a mechanical failure which needs to be addressed or these may be true shocks. In case of true shocks the physician will look into possible organic causes and may review his medications.
Sincerely
Sukhvinder
