Can Varicocele Be Treated Using Ultrasonic Therapy?

I had a pain in groin area. I visited segeon. He advice me to make ultrasonic test. Test has shown that I have left varicocele. On the next day after test my pain came away. My questions: 1. Culde varicocele be treated by ultrasonic therapy? 2. If not, or ultrasonic therapy has nothing to treatment of this diagnosis maybe this diagnosis is wrong and it necessary to do another test? 2a. What is the name of this test?

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. Since you had pain in the groin area, your surgeon has done Ultrasonography of groin and scrotum area and has found out that you are having varicocele. Varicocele is a condition of an enlargement of the veins within the scrotum.

This will cause some dragging type of pain in the scrotum. Ultrasound is used for diagnosis of your condition, that is to find out the cause. Its not for treatment. In mild cases with pain killers and rest, the varicocele may resolve on its own. In severe cases the only option is surgery. Surgical removal is the only option. Kindly discuss this with your surgeon.
