Can Using Akt Tablets Cause Infertility In Women?

Hi sir.i m using akt4 tablets since 8 months.what my doubt is I heard that using akt tablets can cause infertility in women.i got married one year ago.I was suffering from lymph node tb that s why I m using these tablets.our doctor suggested me to postponed the pregnancy during this time.i just wanted to know about this drug.pls clarify my doubt sir.regards.

1. Since AKT 4 drugs are categorised in Category 'C' which means: either studies in animals have revealed adverse effects on the fetus (teratogenic or embryocidal or others) and there are no controlled studies in women or arudies in women and animals are not available.Drugs should only be given only if the potential benefits justifies the potential risk to the fetus.

PS. AKT drugs do cause menstrual irregularities apary from elevated liver enzymes and vision problems with pyridoxine deficiency.

2. When thinking of conception,first consult a Gynecologist and/or Fertility specialist regarding the same.
