Can Using Copenhagen Pouches Cause Sore Lips With Red Bumps?

My husband has been doing Copenhagen pouches for about 4 years now. About three weeks ago his lips became sore, chatted and had small red bumps on them. Within three day it cleared up but came back 1 week later. Not sure what's going on but could this be related to the pouches?

Hi,

This can be due to Copenhagen pouches, but there are other conditions that also can cause this. A very common cause is deficiency of B complex vitamins. The irritant action of tobacco further worsens the condition. In my opinion, a course of B complex vitamin supplements can be taken as there is no risk of overdose. In addition, do ask your husband to quit or at least cut down on his intake of tobacco.

Best wishes.
