Can Umbilical Hernia Repair Mesh Loosen?

Can umbilical hernia repair mesh come loose? I sat down on a lounge chair today and there is now a burning pain to the right and distal to the umbilicus. Worse with bending and stairs. Nothing strenuous preceded the pain. Lap Hernia repair done 1-30-15 along with omental adhesiolysis. I am female, 53, 5 5 , 290lbs. pmh: HTN, OA, OSA on CPAP, fibromyalgia, IBS, depression. No DM, cardiac, renal, or hepatic issues. PSH: LAVH, lap appy, lap chole, cysto/stone removal/urethral stent, lap LOA, sinus/septum.

Hi,

Yes. Umbilical hernia repair mesh can be loosen if some strenuous movements took placed at site of hernia. But it can be re-positioned in simple method. If pain persist i suggest to consult surgeon to examine the position of the mesh.
