Can Turmeric And Ginger Extracts Be Consumed While On Eliquis, Metoprolol And Lisinopril?

I have a friend that makes a tea with turmeric and ginger using ground up spices from grocery store. She uses (I think) 1/2 teaspoon of each and steeps in hot water. I thought I might like to try it but am on Eliquis and metropolol and lisinipril. Not sure about interactions. YYYY@YYYY

Hi,

1. High doses of turmeric does cause low blood sugar and blood pressure and since you are taking blood pressure medication, you should take caution.

2. Likewise ginger acts as a blood thinner and can interact with large doses of turmeric resulting in bleeding problems, thus in both cases, you should first consult your attending Physician regarding possible possibilities, under no circumstances you should start, stop, or change any modern medicine with alternative remedies.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
