Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of low fever with body aches and you had previous history of mono in past. You symptoms seems to be due to viral infection due to compromised immunity of your body and susceptibility of getting infected. Sometimes initially the infection is viral but with times secondary bacterial infection occur , which cause further complication . I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist without any delay. Doctor may prescribe anti viral ( acyclovir ) , anti bacterial ( pencillin ) , decongestant along with anti inflammatory. Doctor may order throat swab test , viral culture test, and blood test to confirm the diagnosis . For now take steam twice a day to relieve the congestion. You should take proper rest.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
