Can Throat Pain Be Due To Enlarged Thyroid Nodules?

Thank you ,I have just been put on Eltroxin for2months ,but have also a lot of pain in neck and face .So then a new Doctor tried me on amoxicillin for10 days but I have still a very sore neck and pains in my throat Last year they found 7 nodules and biopsy 1 but said it was not cancer but since then I have started with this painful throat and am trying to get back to see a specialist. Do you think the nodule s are getting bigger? also I have about 7 ,but I am not sure what they mean when they say it could be your lymph notes? Thank You

Hi.
The enlarge thyroid nodule do not cause any pain unless they are very large or have bled inside.
The pain in your throat and neck is there for the last so many months indicated wither a Granular pharyngitis secondary to sinusitis or chondritis of the cartilages that form the framework of the neck and throat.
Get a clinical examination.
CT scan of the neck for thyroid, Lymph nodes.
Go for FNAC again for all the nodules under ultrasonography guidance.
This is to rule out cancer and to get a proper diagnosis.
The presence on multiple nodules is an indication for thyoidectomy to see if there is cancer or not ans since you are already on Eltroxin, this indicated that the thyroid is not function. Ruling out cancer is the most important in your case.
Get Ft3, FT4 and TSH done.
