Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello and welcome to HCM,

I read your query and understood your concern.
Your son has developed a tick bite granuloma, a chronic reaction to saliva of tick.
It may flatten itself but it will take months.

There maybe a chance of some part of tick left trapped in the skin and that may be causing allergic reaction. Get checked by a dermatologist. A very simple out patient procedure can remove this lump.

Hope I helped
