Hi my son has had a lump about 1.5 to 2 cm in size behind his ear for about 11 weeks .It first appeared a week after he had been bitten by a tick on top of his head. The lump does not appeared to have grown in size but it seems to only have decreased in size very very slightly. what does this mean
I read your query and understood your concern. Your son has developed a tick bitegranuloma, a chronic reaction to saliva of tick. It may flatten itself but it will take months.
There maybe a chance of some part of tick left trapped in the skin and that may be causing allergic reaction. Get checked by a dermatologist. A very simple out patient procedure can remove this lump.
Hope I helped
