Hello. I had six botton teeth removed about four weeks ago. Was supposed to get implants . But, after my dentist drilled four holes in my lower jaw he determined that it would not hold the screws right now. He also split my gums open and filed my jawbone down. Had alot of sutures. For over a week now it starting hurting really bad. When i took a look at it i see that my bone is exposed on the backside . This dentist has made my experience a living painful hell. Is this normal? Can it be fixed? How?
As per your complain as you have exposed jaw bone after placement of sutures there are chances that the few sutures have come out or some area is left out mistakenly where sutures should be placed leading to opened gums in that area and the bone is exposed..
I would suggest you to consult an oral surgeon and get evaluated and in case of disrupted sutures he can approximate the gum flap margins and place the stitches again and cover the exposed bone..
For relief of pain a strong painkiller like Tramadol can help..
Hope this information helps..
