Can Taking Antibiotics For Tooth Infection Cause Severe Anxiety?

I am on antibiotics for an infection of wisdom teeth till I can have them removed. However they cause severe anxiety so I am reduced to taking them once a day. I have been reading sites where I hear if infection gets worse it can cause my air ways to swell can this happen?

Hello,

Antibiotics require to be taken at the recommended dose to combat the infection. At reduced doses not only are they ineffective but also can be harmful by making the bacteria acquire resistance to the antibiotic.
The airways can get blocked only if the infection and swelling become so large as to block the entire region. You will not be able to eat or drink long before that. So it is not to be anxious about now. But I would suggest you contact your dentist and request another antibiotic in the proper dose rather than manage with a reduced dose of the present antibiotic as the dose reduction is potentially harmful.
Wish you good health. If you have further queries, I am available to answer
