Can Taking An Overdose Of Diltiazem Cause Any Side Effects?

About 29 minutes ago I took my daily blood pressure meds, but accidentally took 2 of the diltiazem XR 240 when I am prescribed only one of the diltiazen XR 240 and 1 Lisinopril 40 mg tablet daily. I need to leave my home shortly - it is almost 6 am. Can you advise me as to what I need or do not need to do about this overdose?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is possible that your blood pressure may decrease more than usual since your took an additional dose.

The use of additional fluids (if there is no medical reason cannot use increased fluids) and salt may help to increase the blood pressure.
You would need to monitor it, if it is too low, you may need to skip a dose of your medication.

I hope this helps
