Can Taking Zifi Be Safe For Stomach Pain And Loose Motions?

Hello Doctor.I am writing to seek advise for my four year old boy Few weeks ago he complained of stomach ache, which increased in frequency... We were visiting from the USA to Delhi, and are still in Delhi The Doctor who was consulted said that it is because of the change and gave him Nutrolin B. That seemed to help for a day, but then he got loose motions. He was then started on ZiFi for 5 days. While on ZiFi he seemed fine, but soon after (in 2 days) he had a relapse. He was put on ZiFi again for 7 days, and again while on ZiFi he was perfect: no stomach ache, OR loose motions. But since yesterday, he started complaining of stomach ache again, and today had a little loose motion too. Please advise,...I am very concerned

Hi,

If there is no fever, stools are not blood stained and he is otherwise playful, nothing to worry. Bowel may take few more days to settle after resolution of infection. You can give him a probiotic for 5 days. Also, avoid spicy / fried items for the time being.
