Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Can Taking Prilosec Be Safe For Abdomen Pain While Having Low Ejection Fraction?
My daughter is 21 years old. Healthy, average height and weight. No known health conditions. Had upper abdominal pain for over a week. Ultrasound and blood test - normal. Hida scan had EF of 15%. Pain went away after 3 days on Maalox with Lidocaine. Dr says no need for follow-up since pain subsided. What should we do about the low EF? Should we continue to seek the source of the pain or wait to see if it returns. All they want her to do now is take Prilosec for a couple weeks and see if the pain stays away. I appreciate your opinion.
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, if the pain is subsided due to local anesthetic action then it may returns again if the pain comes back then you have to inform about this and you can wait till then, EF is questionable it needs to be discuss with doctor because EF is related with ECHO test hope this information helps.
