Can Taking Lamictal With Wellbutrin Cause Sudden Increase In BP Levels?

Hi...My Dr. Started me on Lamictal three weeks ago for lingering symptoms of Bipolar 2. She also upped my Wellbutrin from 150 to 300 mg per day. I am on 50 mg of lamictal. I have cryong spells daily since taking it and feel even more out of whack. Today I had a severve headache and felt awful. I took my blood pressure at my dad s and it was 160 over 111. I havr always been hypotensive. After a few hours of rechecking it never came down, so went to urgent care. They started me on lisinopril. Is the high bp due to the meds? Thanks

hi mam/sir,both lamictal and wellbutrin have got headache as their side effect.moreover,with wellbutrin,you may experience increase agitation,nervousness and anxiety which can lead to increase in blood pressure.so my suggestion is please do report your symptoms to the physician who had prescribed,so that any decrement in dose or alternate medication can be obtained.the dose is almost doubled.we usually keep our patients under observation for agitation and increased suicidal tendencies.so kindly contact your doctor.dont worry your BP would certainly come down,once you get habituated to the above drugs.any further assistance from my side,please let me know.i'm always here to address your worry.thank you.take care.bye.
