Can Taking Ceptapin XR 500mg Affect The Sexual Health?

I am a male, my age is 44 years. I am consuming Cetapin XR 500 mg (1 Morning 1/2 Night) since 2010. I don t have any problem in sexual feeling. Now past 7 months I am consuming Cetapin XR 500 mg (1 Morning 1 Afternoon & 1 Night). Now a days I don t have any sexual feeling. Is it because of more consumption of Cetapin?

Ceptapin XR is metformin and this is an anti diabetes drug. Over all the drug is not known to cause sexual side effects or decrease in libido. Instead diabetes itself has complications like decrease in libido. Poorly controlled diabetes is one cause. Consult a psychiatrist for treatment.

Medicines like Sildenafil, Tadalafil are used in erectile dysfunction associated with diabetes. Herbal medicine like Tantax Fotre, Confido are also used. These drugs help in improving libido and erection.

Get your HBA1c levels checked regularly to find out long term control of sugar. If poor levels are seen consult your physician for treatment of diabetes and metformin doses.
