Can T The Atrophy Of Cerebellum Be Treated?

I was recently diagnosed with atrophy of cerebellum. The doctor said there was no surgery, prescription, or treatment available. Is this true? The diagnosis was after having an MRI. I do have some of the symptoms, absolutely no balance, have to use walker everywhere. Sometimes strength in legs is so lacking I cannot support my body weight. Email: YYYY@YYYY

cerebellum is responsilble for maintaining equilibrium of ones body while standing or performing motion etc. it is TRUE that there is no surgery, prescription or treatment available for cerebellar atrophy.this loss of balance is called ataxia.here mental function is good but there will be loss of physical control over body movements. this is a progressive and irreversible disease in which one has to take help of supportive devices like cane or crutches, walker, or wheelchair, depending on the degree of your inability to walk.you can go for physiotherapy for postural balance and gait training.in case hand and arm coordination is impaired devices are available for assisting in wring, feeding and self care.in this disease one needs physical and occupational rehabilitation.apart from this maintaining healthy balanced diet and keeping mind positive will help a lot.
