Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, My daughter (7) has developed a rush on her lower tummy and the back. It started on Monday and spread to her bottom and upper legs today. It s very red, itchy and kind of spotty. Could it be allergic reaction to chlorine in a swimming pool? She was swimming on Monday and today. Thank you
Understanding your concern. As per your query your daughter has rashes all over the body including lower tummy, back , upper and lower legs is could be because of allergic reaction to chlorine in swimming pool. Need not to worry about it. Washing the affected area with clean water to try to remove any traces of the remaining irritant. In some cases a corticosteroid cream may be prescribed , also apply cold compresses to prevent the irritation and swelling . Consult pediatrician for proper checkup and to rule out side effect of drug or bug bite . Doctor may prescribe anti histamine .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
