Can Sugar Be Controlled Without Surgery?

With an ag1c of 11 and fasting blood glucose of 230, the doctor won't approve an arthroscopic surgery. Without the arthroscopic surgery, cannot exercise to get the sugars under control. What could happen if a doctor could be found to authorize the surgery?

Hi, I had gone through your query and understood your concerns.

For approval of any surgery the blood sugar levels should be absolutely under control. because a surgery of any type has very great chance infections, in a diabetic with poor controlled sugar levels, the risk increases and also healing process is very difficult. this is the reason no doctor advices surgery with poor controlled sugar levels.

Regarding controlling sugar levels you can discuss with your diabetes treating doctor in relation to dosage of medication you are taking. That really helps you. Once they are under control, you can have your surgery after which you may reduce the dose when you add exercise to your life style.

Hope this guides you. Thank you. For any other queries you can write to us. we will be happy to help you.
