Can Straining Of Muscles Cause Cramps?

I workout on a regular basis. I drink at least a gallon of water per day. I take multi-vitamins with extra potassium, magnesium and zinc. I've had blood work done and everything looks normal. I've even started using celtic sea salt. My doctor doesn't know why I get cramps all over. Even with putting my seat belt on in my car, I'll get a cramp in my side. Sometimes the cramps are so severe, the next couple of days, it feels as I've pulled/strained the same muscle. Any suggestions?
