Can Sore Chest And Heart Palpitations Days After Chest Injury Be Serious?

I was on my knees in the bathtub washing my hair. As I braced myself to stand up, my hand on the side of the tub slipped, and I came down HARD on the right side of my chest. It was very painful, took my breath away. I was sore the next few days, but there was no bruising and i could breathe fine. That was Wednesday evening. Each day I felt better, but today I was climbed a flight of stairs a few times at work, and after doing that I have had heart palpitations off and on. Otherwise, I feel fine, my chest is still sore, like my ribs were bruised.

Thanks for your question on HCM.
In my opinion you should get done atleast chest x ray.
As blunt chest trauma can cause
1. Rib fracture
2. Pneumothorax
3. Pulmonary contusions
In all of the above sore chest, high pulse rate, chedt pain, breathing difficulties etc can be seen.
So to rule out these you need chest x ray. So get it done.
Soreness in chest is seen upto 20-30 days. So painkillers and muscle relaxant are useful in your case.
Avoid movement causing pain.
