Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
About two or three months ago I smoked some poppers with a friend and I felt extreme pain in my throat since and doctors kept on giving me antibiotics thinking I have a throat infection but I won't get better until my family physician realized that it's a segnificant ulcers in my throat could smoking the poppers that day be the cause ? And what's the solution for it ?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain, yes it is true that smoking poppers can cause throat ulceration due to inflammation and heat and chemical trauma. Another cause of throat ulceration is acid reflux.. I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like Laryngoscopy and upper G.I Endoscopy can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly.. You can be advised to take anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen.. Do warm saline gargles.. Take Sucralfate as it creates a protective layer over the ulcers and prevent further injury.. You can take a soft and bland diet.. Avoid spicy food.. Drink plenty of cool fluids...
Hope this helps..
Regards.
