Can Smoking Cause Trouble After A Removed Cyst In The Lip?

I had a muccous cyst removed from my lower lip this morning and 4 stitches are in its place now. Is it okay for me to smoke out of a pipe or rolled cigarette? Would it make a difference if it was weed or tobacco? I dont want to interfere in the healing process but it is no longer bleeding and just a little sore.

Hi,

Whatever method you use for smoking, it is quite possible that the site will be exposed to at least some smoke, which will further irritate the mucosal lining and make it more sore. Both weed and tobacco will cause the same problem. If possible, avoid smoking at least till the lesion heals a bit more.

Best wishes.
