Thanks for contacting HCM I am sorry to hear about your mother who has dementia and recent hallucinations. The hallucination and outbursts are very common in elderly persons with dementia and doctors frequently use medication called antipsychotics to reduce these symptoms. Your mother is taking risperidone and trihexyphenidyl hydrochloride which are two very powerful medications. If she is now too drowsy and unable to function then the amount is too much. I would recommend reducing the amount of medication. Please have your doctor either reduce the dose or change it all together. Hope this answers your question.
