Can She Take Tylenol Instead Of Ibuprofen For Leg Pain Relief?

I am concerned about my mother in law, and she is in pretty good health for her age, she takes meds for blood pressure, and she watches what she is for minor gall bladder issues, but other than that she is pretty good, but, she constantly complains that her legs from knee down ache. We tried bio freeze, she takes Tylenol but it s to the point she sometimes just can t handle it. Doctors are telling her there is nothing g wrong. I was thinking to try her on ibuprofen instead of Tylenol, and was hoping for anything else, like a cream or something that would help her. I was wondering if she has maybe restless leg syndrome.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Restless leg syndrome would be diagnosed when there are abnormal sensations in the legs that result in the person giving into the urge to move the legs. The sensations may be pins and needles, itching, crawling, pulling etc.

If this is occurring , then it is possible that this condition is present.

There are other causes of pain as well eg (1)arthritis- if severe can cause pain from the joint onwards
(2)neuropathy- abnormal nerve function causing pain
(3)infection
(4)trauma

She may need to consider imaging of the knees and legs.

She can consider the ibuprofen, it should be used on a full stomach

I hope this helps
