Can Severe Vomiting Cause The Uvula To Tear?

I am having severe vomiting and it feels like I’ve torn my uvula. It feels like it’s coming forward while vomiting and I have extreme throat pain. I think I will be vomiting soon again. I think this is food poisoning. Is it possible to have torn my uvula?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Vigorous vomiting rarely cause uvula tear unless you keep finger to vomit and hurt you uvula.

You may be suffering from acute gastritis or food poisoning.

Use tablet Pantoprazole.

Use tablet Ondansetron.

Drink plenty of liquids. if you're feeling giddiness, check for blood pressure and get in line for fluid replacement. If symptoms not improved, please consult your physician. He will examine and treat you accordingly.

Take care.
