Can Severe Migraine With Continuous Vomiting Be Related To Stopping Intake Of Abilify?

My daughter has been on 2 mg Abilify for 3 months. Met with doctor Saturday and decision was made to stop. Since the dose was so low, he said she could just stop without any kind of weaning off more gradually. Tonight she has severe migraine with non-stop vomiting. She is a migraine sufferer, but never has had vomiting going on like this. Cannot find any info about possible withdrawal effects. Can they be related?

Hi,

A headache and migraine are not related to Abilify.

As a first line management, you can try analgesics like Tramadol or Acetaminophen for pain relief.

If pain persists better to consult a neurologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
