Can Severe Headaches Be A Sign Of Aneurysm?

My son got massive headaches the last 3 days around the same time, today it lasted for 2.5 hrs, he could not function the pain was so severe. He went to the ER and they said it could be sinus problem, cluster headaches or an outside chance of an aneurysm. If these headaches come and go over the last 3 days, is an aneurysm a possibility? It would seem with an aneurysm the pain would not stop? Carl

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

* The severe headache can be of multiple origin depending upon the type, pattern, aggravating , relieving factors, blood pressure, family history, consumption of abuse substances as cocaine or others, stress and much more.

It would not be relevant to utter just by 3 linings that this would be of aneurysm sign or not, but I would say, please revert back with all essential details of history, scan reports what ever available with you during next follow up discussion for further guidelines.

Till that time, I would like to ensure you that do not stress out for particular aneurysm issue as many of them are asymptomatic in many of the cases.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
