Can Rowing Cause Muscle Strain On The Back And Pain Around The Kidney Area?

About a week ago I did 20 minutes on rowing machine. I thought I might have strained my back. I have a pain in lower right side below kidneys and my right thigh muscle hurts. My right testicle is also hurting. Could I have strained these muscles by rowing?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Yes, rowing can cause strain in the back muscles, especially in the lumbar and sacroiliac region due to load on these regions. Start pain killers and consult your physician for further management.

Thanks.
