Can Rough Intercourse Cause Brown Vaginal Discharge?

I had a hysterectomy 10 yrs ago because of endometriosis - I still have my cervix and ovaries. Had my annual exam 2 months ago and all tests came back normal. The past few days I ve had some brownish discharge. Could this be from rough intercourse 2 weeks ago? Also - same partner for 18 yrs. should I go to the Dr or wait and see if it clears itself up? I ve also been stressed lately - could that be it? Thanks -

Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Experiencing brown vaginal discharge after intercourse could be due to:
1. Sexually transmitted infection (STI), like chlamydia.
2. Mechanical injuries leading to damage to the vaginal mucosa and cervix, such as tears caused by dryness or friction during sex.
3. Cervical polyps.
4. Inflammation of the cervix called 'Cervicitis'.
It is better for you to get examined by Gynecologist to evaluate for the cause as follows:
1. Pelvic examination through per vaginal examination
2. Per speculum examination to visualize the cervix
Appropriate management depending on the cause could be instituted accordingly.
