Can Reddening Of Back And Thigh A Reaction To Soap Or Watermelon Drink?

I have a 2.5 year old who seems to have a reaction to something; we've narrowed it down to either the bath he took in the hotel (soap? salts?).. or the watermelon slushy he drank lots of... his cheeks are quite red; he has reddening of back, thighs, but strangely not his diaper area. He has also had 4 dirty diapers (all loose).. We are traveling (from Canada).. in Las Vegas. We bought pepto bismol, but I hesitate to give it too him..

Hi...I feel you son is going through a viral watery diarrhea. Unless the kid's having low urine output or very dull or excessively sleepy or blood in motion or green bilious vomiting...you need not worry. I suggest you use zinc supplements & ORS (WHO approved oral rehydration solution). Rash again suggests viral origin. I don't think this is allergy for soap or water or watermelon.
