Can Red Skin And Tiny Bump Inside The Nose Be A Sign Of Herpes?

The inside of my nose had been itching for a week. I noticed some crusting. Suddenly, the itching got worse and the skin inside my nose began peeling. I put Neosporin on it and it seems to be getting better. No more itching, but it s still red/pink and began to come out onto the exterior of my nose just slightly. There is a tiny bit of skin shedding too. When I look closely, it looks like there are miniscule bumps mixed in with slight redness. Is this herpes in my nose?

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

It may not be herpes but it seems to be an allergic condition of the nose.

It may even not needed the medicine or nasal drops, a general measurement like drinking more liquid, steam inhalation would be enough.

As a matter of fact, to confirm the herpes clinical examination is must, without this it can not be said for sure, hope I answered your question.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
