Can Red Bumps On Face In Older Adults Be A Menopausal Symptom?
56 year old female in good health. I have red bumps on my face. I have never had this before. They do not itch or hurt. They appeared just today. They look a bit like acne, but I do not have acne. Is this yet another menopausal symptom or should I go get it checked out?
Menopause can cause dry skin or wrinkled skin. Changes in the estrogen level may cause skin to become vulnerable for irritations, rash, acne and bumps. You may take hormone replacement therapy (HRT) to ease menopausal symptoms but changes in the hormonal levels may cause acne in some women till the body has adjusted with the changes. Take home made balanced diet, stay well hydrated. Keep skin clean to avoid rashes, acne or bumps.
You can apply a thin layer of Neosporin ointment or Betnovate C ointment on the bumps / acne so that it goes away without leaving a scar. Use herbal face packs twice daily to have a clean complexion. Take plenty of fruits, veggies and well cooked whole cereals. Do regular exercises and take adequate sleep. Avoid oily, spicy, packaged food. Stay away from addictions if any.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
