Can Prylosac Reduce The Stomach Ulcers?

Two nights ago I was up all night with vomiting and diareeha and pain in my upper torso between my rib cage. I went to the emergency room and they ran urine and blood samples. Oh also chest x-rays. Doc says everything came back normal. Looks as though u have and ulcer in ur stomach here s some prylosac make a follow up. Should I take the prylosac if I have an ulcer?

Thanks for your query.
Noted your history of pain in torso, vomiting and diarrhea 2 days ago, went to ER did urine and blood samples and did X-ray chest, all normal, gave Prylosac, Prilosec which the Doctor said will heal ulcer in stomach.
The appearance of diarrhea does not occur in gastric ulcer and hence this might have been actually gastroenteritis.
Well Prilosec will still be part of the treatment but I think you should take an antibiotic and added therapy like Domperidone and symptomatic therapy.
Only an upper GI Endoscopy can confirm whether you have an ulcer or not.
So if the symptoms persist get a stool test and upper GI endoscopy.
If ulcer is present you will have to take Prilosec for one and half months and get a repeat upper GI endoscopy to confirm whether the ulcer is healed.
