Can Probiotics Cause Bad Urine Odor?

MY URINE HAS A VERY FOUL SMELL. IT IS CLEAR AND I DRINK LOADS OF WATER, ALSO HAD UTI TEST. NO INFECTION. MY QUESTION IS CAN PROBIOTICS BE THE CAUSE. I TAKE DAILY, HOWEVER RAN OUT FOR A WEEK OR SO AND NOTICE SMELL WAS VERY MINOR. TOOK PROBIOTICS TODAY AND SMELL RETURNED.

I really appreciate your concern. I have come across some cases where probiotics ingestion have lead to pungent foul smelling of urine. In your case it is definitely because of probiotics, but it is not a harmful effect. Many drugs are excreted by kidney through urine which causes change in urine color and odor. This definitely harmless effect. So just relax.
