Can Premarin Medicine Be Stopped Which Have Been Taking For Long Time For A Knee Replacement Surgery?

I have taken premarin for 30 years.(I am 74). Am having knee replacement surgery in 10 days and the hospitalist wants me to stop taking premarin. I do not want to go off of it. I have had two hips and one knee replaced and did not have to off of it for those sugeries. Any thoughts

I really appreciate your concern the medicine that you are taking is hormone containing pills if you are being advise to stop this medicine then you have to stop this, because you are taking this medicine since many years so this wont make any difference whether you stop this or keep it continue, but as long as the surgery is concern the surgical team might not be ready take any risk, hope this information helps you, have a nice day.
