Can Pituitary Gland Disorder Aggravate Depression And Anxiety?

My 57 year old nephew suffers from chronic depression and anxiety, with suicidal tendencies. He survived Hodgkins years ago, had a mild stroke about 5 years ago, and has occasional A-Fib heart problems. He is physically fit otherwise, working as a self-employed home inspector. This week a dizzy spell took him to the ER, where the MRI revealed an empty pituitary gland. More tests will follow. I ve read that pituitary problems can aggravate depression and anxiety. Any suggestions for further research?
