Can Penicillin Cause Kidney Pain And Blood In Urine?
my last two urination had a dark red color and i believe it is from blood. I also have a pain i believe in my left kidney. I just recently had a tooth extracted on Monday and am on penicillin. I am a diabetic and can give you a list of medicine if you would like.
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Penicillin is a group of antibiotics, which are found to be effective against many bacterial infections. Side effects of penicillin include nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, rash and itching. However, it is not known to cause pain in the kidney and blood in urine. Since you are diabetic, these symptoms could be due to infection of the urinary system, which needs further evaluation in the form of: 1. Urine routine examination. 2. Ultrasound scan of abdomen. Kindly consult Urologist with the report for proper evaluation and management. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
