Can Pain In The Rib Cage Be Caused By A Fractured Rib Cage?
Hello, I want to ask a question. I been having a lot of pain on my right rib cage close to the breast bone. Everything I lay down, breath, or cough hurts. Could it possibly be having a fractured rib cage or is my stomach the cause of the pain. I am a bit overweight. 5 9 215

First of all, the origin of pain needs to be determined. Fracture of rib(s) can lead to pain in chest region.
However, the fracture rib will be preceded by trauma. Pain during breathing, coughing is also associated with the pathology of pleura.
I suggest you consult your pulmonologist for clinical assessment, relevant investigations and thus management.
