Tomorrow I have a very minor but quite painful minor surgical intervention and the nurse told me to take some painkiller before I arrived. She mentioned Aspirin, Advil and Tylenol. Which would be best for very local pain of replacing the wick for draining of an abcess? YYYY@YYYY

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

As you are about to go for a surgical procedure for sinus draining the best painkillers out of the three you mentioned shall be Ibuprofen which will reduce pain as well as Inflammation that is common after surgery..
You can also take a course of antibiotics like Amoxicillin to prevent infections..
These medicines need to explain continued even after surgery to prevent pain and infection .

Hope this helps..

Regards.
