Can Mitral Valve Prolapse Cause Dizzy Spells?

I am a 37 year old female that has mitral valve prolapse and I have been experiencing dizzy spells that my doctor has diagnosed as vertigo from an inner ear issue. Physical therapy treatments aren't really working and I am having anxiety attacks from these spells. Can my heart valve be the cause of these dizzy spells?

Hi
dizziness is very different from vertigo
inner ear disturbances can cause vertigo and dizzyness. Mitral valve prolapse usually remains asymptomatic ,breathlessness is the main symptom in most of the patients.Although it can cause dizziness but is very rare.
If your physcian has diagnosed it as verigo then donot do any physical rehabilitation therapy till it fully settles down
treatment of vertigo is done in two stages
1) Acute attack-anti vertigo medications are given like betahistine and prochlorperazine maleate
2) chronic phase-- vestibular rehabilitation therapy and physical therapy are indicated .
IF ITS SUSPECTED AS VERTIGO
caloric test and pure tone audiometry is advised
