Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hi docor my daughter has been tking minocycline and been using a topical gel clinamycin i think it is and she seems to have the same red rashy almost looking bumps still on her face doc said to come back in 3 mos its been almost 2 should she need a different med ?
I am so sorry to hear about this rash. These drugs cause increased photosensitivity that can lead to sun burn rash. This probably explains why she is having this red face. Drinking much water and protecting the skin from sunrays would be very helpful in addressing this side effect. If these measures should fail, then consider talking to your doctor so that you both can evaluate the treatment taking into account the benefits and side effects and make the decision to continue or stop.
I wish you and your daughter well. I hope this helps. Dr. Ditah, MD
