Can Medicine Cause Gum Bleeding?

I have been taking celexa for approx. a year for depression/anxiety. I also have disc hernia tigon of L4-L5 and S1. Marked in L5 and S1 which have resulted in moderate to severe pain. I have had steroid injections in the spine, the most result was in July. I was told to take an NSAID every day. As I am allergic to ibuprofen I have been taking aleve. Recently my gums have begun bleeding moderately every time I brush my teeth (with soft bristles). I am concerned if this is related to my meds or if I need to look into something else. Thank you in advance. Katrina

Hello
Welcome to HCM
Dear katrina sometime long term use or few side effects can cause gum bleeding. But according to me you should consult your doctors weather these drugs have side effect or he or she can change the salt. Above all gum bleeding is also because of inflammation in gums oe dirty teeth. So better to visit periodontics, a dentist for proper cleaning of teeth along with that you can use good antiseptic mouth wash n gum paint 3, 4 times a day.
Hope you are satisfied.
Enjoy your health.
Thanks
