Can Lymph Nodes, Be Related With Lung Nodules And Lumps On Neck?

My 15 year old daughter was just diagnosed with a nodule on her lung. She also has a lump on her neck above her collar bone. Doctor says it is a lymph node and the one on the other side is also enlarged but not to the degree that we can tell like her left one. She is tired and lacks energy, has a cough and the real reason we went to the doctor was because her back was sore. She plays LOTS of hockey at a very high level and we thought perhaps she just strained her back and that was why we went. They have put her on Clarithoromycin and we are to go back in 2 weeks for another xray. What is this?

HI,Welcome to HCM with your query.
By the facts of your query,In my opinion, you seem to have a very perplexing issue. All started with sore back with cough/tiredness/and debility, with your doctor detecting a nodule on her lung, which could be lymphnode.
If clarithromycin doesn't help her, possibility of Pulmonary TB needs to be ruled out from other causes of such lung conditions with nodule on the lung, and for which I would suggest you to consult a Thorasic Surgeon and Chest Specialist/Pulmonologist.
Second opinions from above specialists would rule out other possibilities such as -Lymphoma/ and or/Sarcoidosis with Lung nodule.
Investigations suggested-
CT Chest after RECHECK Chest Xray after Clarithromycin /
Completer Blood Tests,EST,IGRA blood test(interferron Gamma-Realease Assay blood test to confirm old TB infection in the body) are few important for your information.

I would not burden and confuse this reply with many other technical details of such a case investigation, which your doctors would take care off.

But don't worry and never loose your hope till all the angles for its treatment are worked out,as suggested above.

Hope this would help you to plan treatment with your doctor.
Will appreciate hitting thanks and writing review comments to benefit needy patient visitors at HCM like you.
Good day.
