Can Long Term Excessive Alcohol Consumption Cause Itchy Armpits?

Just wondering if drinking can cause my armpit to be irritated - I mentioned this since last weekend I went for drinking (and got one too much glass of whisky) and when woke up next morning my armpits were red irritated and a bit burning is it possible because drinking?

Hello dear
I understand your concern
Alcohol could be a cause of itchy armpits.
It cause dehydration and cause dryness of skin.
Dryness of skin cause itching.
In long term use it damage the liver, improper circulation of bile acid and pigments, can cause itching.
I advise you to go for liver profile test to know the liver damage due to chronic alcohol use.
Other causes could be due to excessive sweating, poor hygiene, and fungal infection.
Following advises will helpful:
Drink plenty of water and fruit juice of orange, pineapple to maintain hydration
Tablet cetrizine at the bed time
Apply cetaphil mosturizer cream
Application of clotrimazole for fungus infection
Wear loose cotton garments
Maintain proper hygiene.
