Can Klonopin Cause Drowsiness In A Bipolar Patient With Suicidal Tendencies?
My daughter is bipolar and has just been placed in a professional mental health center. she has been telling her brother that she was going to committ suicide. She is 38 and he is 36. She says she has written letters to her children (twins age 6) and her 17 year old daughter to let them know how much she loves them when she is gone. She talks about a medication called something like "clonaquin" (don't know how to spell it) said she took 30 of those and it only made her drousy. Does this medication sound correct.
Hello, Your daughter has tried comitting suicide by taking clonopin tabs. They are sedative and in high dose can cause dangerous and life threatining respiratory depression. So, first and foremost is thats he should not be left alone and medicines should be kept away from her.
She might try to do it again and differently, so you must consult a psychiatrist to satrt some medicine for the same. More can be said only after talking to the patient in person.
I hope you understood that this is an emerency situation and must be looked into urgently. Please ask more questions for clarification
