Can Inflamed Bowels Due To Constipation Lead To Low-grade Fever In Children?

My 5 year old daughter has been getting a low-grade fever (99-101) once a month for the past 7 months. It lasts 1 day and then its gone. The only other thing I notice that coincides with the fever is that she gets a little constipated. Could it be that her bowels get inflamed causing the fever?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It can be gastroenteritis. You can give her paracetamol syrup according to the body weight. If symptoms persist, you can consult a pediatrician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Wishing you good health.

Thanks.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
