Can Implantable Cardioverter-defibrillator Be Replaced By A Medicine?

On Wednesday I will receive an ICD. I have heard from a friend that there is medication that will accomplish the same thing. I trust the person that told me this, but I have a hard time believing that there is a medication for this purpose. If there is, I believe my cardiologist would have told me. Can you tell me if it is or is not true and if so, is it on a case by case basis? Thank you, Daniel Hewett
