Can Ibugesic Plus Be Given To Infant To Relive Pain Due To Vaccination?

Respected Sir,

I have a 3 months old baby. Yesterday we had given him pentavaccine 3 and due to this he is suffering from severe pain. He is crying continuously and we suspect its due to pain. Can you please help us. Please. When consulted with the regular doctor we consult he asked us to give him a syrup named "IBUGESIC PLUS". Now he dont have fever but i need to know whether i can give him this syrup for reducing the pain alone. Please suggest. Early reply would be of great help. Thank you

Hi...even for pain I suggest you use only Paracetamol as a plain preparation. Paracetamol can be given in the dose of 15mg/kg/dose every 4-6th hourly that too only if fever is more than 100F or if there is excessive pain.. I suggest not using combination medicines for fever, especially with Paracetamol.
Ibugesic Plus is a combination drug and contains an NSAID. It carries the risk of gastritis and renal problems in the long run. Please do not use Ibugesic Plus.
